Set-up, adjust and operate conventional and/or special purpose machine tools to perform diversified operations on work having close and exacting tolerance, several dimensional relationships, unusual contours and finish specifications.
Plan and determine setup procedures and operating sequences; select tooling, attachments, spindle speeds, tool feed rates, work piece securing methods, supports, etc., best suited for nature of operations, machine and size of work piece
Position, align and secure work piece on the bed of the machine, clamp and support work securely, or secure work piece between centers or on face plates of turning machines
Set tooling in holders and calibrate tool heads to orient tools and work piece to reference point for operations
Calibrate machine during operations for rate and amount of cut to obtain required finish and dimensional specifications; Check work to assure dimensional conformance
Work from complex and involved sectionalized and part drawings and specifications
Use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and devices to set up, operate machine and check work
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Journeyman apprenticeship.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole number.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of machining technology, mechanical principals, advance shop mathematics, layout and precision measuring, setup and operating methods, tooling types
Decision making and problem solving skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
